One School One Country

Our cultural exchange programme held in the Host country in conjunction with the WorldSkills Competition.

One School One Country is a cultural exchange programme that brings together children from the host country with WorldSkills Member countries and regions to share each other’s cultures and values and increase awareness about the power of vocational skills to improve lives around the world.

Here's how it works:

  • Schools in the host country are paired with a WorldSkills Member country or region, forging a new cultural bond.
  • In the classroom, students learn about the values, traditions and culture of their adopted WorldSkills Member, while also gaining insights into the skilled careers represented at the Competition.
  • The programme culminates in a vibrant meeting on the day of the Opening Ceremony when students welcome the Competitors to their schools.
Students from ACTVET and ADEC schools in Abu Dhabi welcome competitors as part of the One School One Country programme at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017.

One School One Country was developed in 2007 by the Competition Organizers for WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007.
