Eight of the Austrian National finals brought together

The Salzburg Exhibition Centre was the setting for the eighth Austrian National Skills Competition finals held from 22–25 November 2012.

A total of 91 Competitors hoping to win a place to represent Austria in WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 and EuroSkills Lille 2014 battled it out over three days of intensive competition.The event covered eight skills: Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering Design CAD, IT Networking and Systems Administration, Painting and Decorating, Bricklaying, Industrial Control, Wall and Floor Tiling and Mechatronics.

In parallel, at EMCO, a manufacturer of CNC Milling and Turning machines, in Hallein the Austrian State Finals were also held in the professions of CNC Turning and CNC Milling.

Stefan Praschl, Chair of the WSI Technical Committee and Austrian Technical Delegate said:

“The competition was another step towards our goal to organize overall national competitions under one roof in the future. This event wouldn’t have been possible without all the volunteers and our sponsors. I want to say a big thank you to them! I am very proud of all our young Competitors who attended these nationals. I am sure we will have an excellent team competing in Leipzig. WorldSkills Leipzig 2013, Austria will be there!”
