Countdown to WorldSkills Calgary 2009

wsc2009_logo_140w.gifWith just over 210 days left before the Opening Ceremony of the 40th WorldSkills Competition in Calgary, Canada (September 1-7, 2009), excitement is rapidly building throughout the world. Members are busy selecting and preparing their teams to compete and the Organisation Committee and WorldSkills International are working hard to finalise all the details.

WorldSkills International visited WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Inc.’s offices in Calgary last week. During the week long meetings, the two groups worked together on operational, technical, marketing, media, hospitality and educational pieces to ensure that the Competition will be a huge success. With 26 staff now in place and many more on the way, the Organising Committee’s offices are a flurry of activity. Preparations are underway for the One School One Country program, the Competitor Village, the Global Skills Village, the Skills Road Show and so much more. Over the next few weeks WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Inc. will be posting articles on this website to inform the public and the WSI Members what to expect during the Competition.

Stay tuned for regular updates as the world gets ready to come to Calgary for the 40th WorldSkills Competition in September 2009.
