All eyes on Water Innovation Challenge

Thirteen participants representing the USA and Australia – plumbers, engineers, web designers, CAD specialists, teachers, and advisors – are participating in the inaugural Water Innovation Challenge event which will run 3-5 June in the Central Amphitheatre at ITE Singapore College East . This is a side event of Singapore International Water Week 2014, a global platform for stakeholders from across the global water industry to share business opportunities and showcase the latest water technologies and innovative water solutions.

In addition to the exciting three-day Challenge, an accompanying visitor experience opportunity to our “Open Studio”, a gallery space and viewing area that will allow visitors and WorldSkills partners to meet and network with a view to developing future project partnerships. The Open Studio will present a range of displays and technical material from the Healthabitat Sanitation Studio programme, plus further content from the World Plumbing Council .

Further to this, the outcomes of the ITE Singapore Virtual 3D Learning Innovation Lab for Facilities Management will be showcased at the heart of the main Water Expo in downtown Singapore. WorldSkills interns Michael Christensen (Canada) and Simon Noerdjan (Suriname) will be on hand to demonstrate their application for water treatment developed exclusively for ITE students, as their three-month stay in Singapore comes to a close.

During these International Water Week events, WorldSkills Foundation will also be supported by a group of media student volunteers (between the ages of 14-16) from the School of Science and Technology, Singapore. We will be keen to witness how local youth capture and communicate our event in their own style.
