Three Member countries of WorldSkills bid to host General Assembly 2018

Colombia (Cartegena), Ireland (Dublin), and the Netherlands (Amsterdam) are all bidding to host WorldSkills General Assembly 2018.  The decision on which Member will host the event will be made at the next General Assembly in Niagara Falls, Canada in early October 2016.

All three Members have prepared excellent proposals that would further both their national organizations and the global development of the WorldSkills movement.

Delegates representing the 75 Member countries and regions will vote on the location of General Assembly 2018 on Monday, 3 October 2016. Details of the successful bid will be posted on the WorldSkills website after the vote. Watch for live updates starting at 11:30 EST on the WorldSkills Facebook page.

WorldSkills UK launches the WorldSkills Professional Recognition Programme

WorldSkills UK has been approved by WorldSkills International, the global hub for skills excellence and development, to run its new continuing Professional Recognition Programme. WorldSkills represents 75 countries and regions and the UK is the first Member to be approved to offer the new international accreditation.

Offering a high quality learning experience, the programme has been designed to enhance the continuing professional development of the WorldSkills Experts. The Experts are appointed by each Member country and region and are responsible for developing the young people who are in training for the international WorldSkills Competition.
