WorldSkills Medal Designers Celebrate Success

Two school students, 16 year old Arash Manshadi. from Middlesex and 13 year old Shivani Kava, from Ealing have won a UK wide competition to design the medals for this year's WorldSkills Competition.
Arash and Shivani's designs will be used to make over 150 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and 56 'Best of Nation' medals which will be presented at the spectacular Closing Ceremony at The O2 arena on 9 October 2011.
"It was an incredibly tough call, but these designs really shone out. The spec was to incorporate elements of the Competition as well as the host city of London," says WorldSkills London 2011 CEO Aidan Jones. "Winning one of these medals means that you are world-class in your particular skill and the quality and design of the medals had to reflect that."
Bentley Motors, a Presenting Sponsor of WorldSkills London 2011, will ensure the medals are produced to the exacting quality standards expected of anything associated with the high luxury motor Company. "Arash and Shivani's design brings together skills, London and the world so encapsulates the three core elements of the event," said Robin Page, Head of Interior Design at Bentley Motors. "Bentley engineers produce goods of the highest quality, and these designs reflected the level of excellence."
In recognition for their winning entries, the talented designers enjoyed a Chauffeur driven trip in a new Bentley Mulsanne in the area where Bentley Motors' headquarters are based. They also met the engineers who will make the designs a reality.
The young designers will also be on stage to present the medals at the WorldSkills Closing Ceremony on 9 October 2011.
