The WorldSkills Journey, Telling the StoryThe WorldSkills Youth Forum 2012 will focus on the journey of a champion, using their experiences to help inform the development of both the WorldSkills Competition and the WorldSkills International vision. Participantswill be encouraged to map their journey plotting key milestones and identifying the impact that their WorldSkills Competition had on them. Champions will have a chance to talk about the next steps in their journey and the role that WorldSKills International can play post-Competition. Champions will be asked how, as an international organization, the ‘story’ of WorldSkills can be told to a wider audience. The stories of the Champions are the ‘draw’ and the way that WorldSkills can attract attention and spread the reach of WorldSkills International. We will identify how to be more effective in using the stories of the Champions to spread the word at a global and national level. As Champions map their influences and key milestones, best practise will be identified and opportunities for development discussed to create recommendations for the development of the WorldSkills Competition experience and WorldSkills International vision. The information gathered will contribute to future WorldSkills Foundation projects, Global Industry Partner engagement and a global alumni programme. |

“Not only has WorldSkills changed my life but it has changed me personnaly as well. It has given me the confidence to strive for what I really want in life, which at the moment is to see the world. I am living abroad which is something I never thought I would have the confidence to do myself before WorldSkills.”
