WorldSkills General Assembly 2014

The WorldSkills General Assembly (GA) 2014 is set to take place in beautiful Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, 13-19 September 2014. The Swiss Museum of Transport is the unique venue for the General Assembly Meetings.

The GA2014 is a global platform for structured plenary meetings, working groups and important networking opportunities. The GA meeting schedule includes the meetings of WorldSkills’ Technical and Strategy Committees, the 2014 Leaders Forum, and the 2014 WorldSkills Champions Forum.

The WorldSkills Leaders Forum is an annual global event, serving as an annual kick-start for the networking process. It strives to exploit and develop the power of WorldSkills' global network to meet the needs of industry and commerce and those who train them – to the mutual benefit of all concerned. Held on 16 September 2014 in Winterthur, Switzerland, this year’s theme is “Skills – The Door to Our Future”.

The WorldSkills Champions Forum (WSCF) enables past WorldSkills Competitors, a.k.a. Champions, to come back and discuss the future of the Competition and other WorldSkills related initiatives in an open and creative environment. “WorldSkills 51: Engaging Champions Beyond the Competition” is the theme of this year’s WorldSkills Champions Forum, to be held 14–19 September 2014 in Lucerne, Switzerland. The WSCF 2014 programme will take Champions through a series of facilitated sessions and group work activities to discuss ways in which they can stay involved with WorldSkills throughout the year, especially the 51 weeks outside of the Competition or Champions Forum. The Champions Forum concludes in a presentation to the WorldSkills General Assembly where the Champions share the outcome of their work.

Rounding out the week is the SwissSkills Berne 2014 which is Switzerland's national skills competition being held 17-21 September. With around 1,000 competitors from all parts of Switzerland, it will be the largest national vocational training exhibition. For more information please visit the SwissSkills Berne 2014 website
